Marcus Rashford has asked social media to help find a fan he hugged to give him his Manchester United shirt.

The England international was on the scoresheet yet again in a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at Old Trafford – his 19th of the season in all competitions.

And the Red Devils ended up needing it after Casemiro’s wild red card saw the Eagles get one back through Jeffrey Schlupp to halve the deficit after Bruno Fernandes had scored an early penalty.

But United held on for the win to leapfrog Newcastle into third spot following the Magpies’ 1-1 draw against West Ham.

As for goal machine Rashford, he jumped into the crowd after his strike against Palace, with the 25-year-old embracing one young fan in jubilation.

Rashford has since taken to social media to try and identify the supporter to give him a signed shirt.

He tweeted: “Whoever this guy is that I’m hugging, I would like to give him my shirt.

“Tag him in the pic that I have just so I can sign it and get it to him.”

Naturally, the replies were full of fans tagging themselves, but if Rashford ever does find his man, it would no doubt make their day.

And it continues the good vibes at Old Trafford, where they have not lost since September 8 in a Europa League match against Real Sociedad.

Rashford added another tweet, writing: “Without the fans cheering us over the line today, this victory isn’t possible. We appreciate every single one of you!”

United have back-to-back clashes against Leeds now after the earlier fixture was postponed due to the Queen’s passing.

The first will be played at the Theatre of Dreams on Wednesday night in what is expected to be a heated battle between two teams with plenty of history before meeting again at Elland Road on Sunday afternoon.

There is then a huge match against Barcelona in the Europa League Round of 32, while they will also face Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final later this month.

It makes February a crucial period for the Red Devils and Ten Hag which could shape their season, but they have hit the perfect form at the right time.
